A suite of new supercharger kits has emerged for Dodge, Chrysler and classic Mopars. Vortech has introduced a high-output, charge cooled supercharging system for the 5.7L and 6.1L Hemi V8 Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. Paxton has also stepped up with their new blow-through supercharging system for carbureted Mopar vehicles. Late-Model Chrysler and Dodge Hemi Complete supercharging systems for 2006-2007 5.7L and 6.1L Chrysler/Dodge Hemi vehicles are now available from Vortech Engineering. Applications include Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum and Charger. No piggyback control boxes, supplemental injectors, fuel lines or “add-on” fuel rails are required. The Vortech system uses the factory fuel
The country’s top award for a performance based Street Machine was presented to Erv Woller at the Goodguys 11th PPG Nationals in Columbus, OH on July 12th. Ringbrothers, the same team that produced last year’s Street Machine of the Year winner, built Woller’s 1969 Camaro, known as “RAZOR”. That’s the first time in the fourteen-year history of the award the winning car was produced by the same build team in consecutive seasons. Featuring a two-tone gray and orange design, “Hunter” leather interior, carbon fiber hood and decklid, a Detroit Speed & Engineering “Quadralink” suspension and one-off custom Budnik wheels,
ProCharger is now offering their legendary intercooled supercharger system for the 2007-2008 “new generation” GM trucks. Producing 50-55% power gains on stock motors with 7-8psi of intercooled boost from the P-1SC-1 ProCharger, this system is sure to get you that extra power you’re looking for. GM truck and SUV ProCharger systems deliver the ultimate performance and power increase for towing, daily driving and sport truck applications. In the lower rpm towing range, Intercooled ProCharger systems will deliver more rear-wheel torque because the intercooled charge air is extremely dense (virtually at ambient temperature), the engine is running full timing, and
Even since I met with STRUT at the 2007 SEMA show, I have been looking forward to their new line of carbon fiber components. The first in this series is a beautiful one-of-a-kind appearance package for the Lamborghini Gallardo. STRUT, the originator of the “jewelry collections for your car” concept, has created an elegant Collection made from aerospace grade carbon-fiber and 316L stainless steel that gives owners the flexibility to further personalize their special automobile. Available for the 2004-2008 Gallardo, this Collection features eleven individual components: two primary grilles with carbon-fiber surrounds and stainless steel, diamond-woven mesh with the distinctive
Converting the standard panhard bar rear suspension to a watts link-type on S197 Mustangs has been a hot topic on forums recently. Saleen included a watts link suspension on its Parnelli Jones special edition Mustangs with much success. Fays2 has their own system that is also getting positive reviews. Now, the engineering masterminds over at Steeda Autosports are throwing their hat into the ring. A Watt’s Linkage replaces the Panhard Bar that was added when Ford re-designed the suspension and made the trailing arms parallel with the length of the chassis. When all of the trailing arms were made parallel,
I have to admit, I am part of a fuel-injection generation. Although I have modified and restored many cars over the years, my personal ride during high school was a 1989 Mustang GT that I shared with my brother. As my unofficial “hot rod school,” we swapped out more parts on that Mustang than I can remember. I never even turned a wrench on a carburetor until years later while restoring a 1965 Mustang with a 289. Heck, I ended up converting that 289 to fuel-injection as well. Finding a simple fuel-injection conversion kit just 10 years ago proved to

Paxton Automotive announces the new line of NOVI “SL” Superchargers. A technically advanced centrifugal unit that does not require a connection between the engine oil pan and the compressor gear case… No oil lines! You’ll also experience cooler air intake temperatures, a shorter installation time, and the ability to service the supercharger oil without removal. This technically advanced unit takes the internal oil reservoir concept, pioneered by Paxton in the 50s, and blends this feature with today’s technology providing
