Galpin Auto Sports displayed a radical custom creation in the Ford booth at the 2008 SEMA show. The GAS crew started with a 2008 Mustang GT convertible, which was stripped down and covered with clay. The clay was sculpted and used as a mold for the fiberglass body. Underneath, the Scythe sports an Air Ride suspension system and 16.5" Wilwood brakes with 6-piston calipers. The engine is a methanol-burning, twin-supercharged, 5.0L V8 making 1005 horsepower.
The Scythe's interior features an onboard, voice-activated Shuttle XPC computer. Simply speak to the electronic personal assistant in your own words and through a digital uplink to a 3G network Scythe will provide real-time weather, traffic, sports, stock market and news information and maintain your daily calendar. Other onboard electronics include flush mounted exterior cameras that offer 24-hour monitoring via cell phone or internet and a voice-activated iPod compatible JL Audio 5.1 Surround Sound system.
