Chip Foose discusses his partnership with Magnaflow and debuts his latest creation at the 2008 SEMA show. Foose built a 1970 Barracuda called "Terracuda." The custom Terracuda Brown paint with California Gold stripes was mixed by BASF and will be part of a new line of custom paints from Foose and BASF. The car also has a number of custom touches and an attention to detail that you'd expect from Foose. The unibody was scrapped in favor of a custom frame designed by Foose and built by Art Carr. The front axle has been moved forward three inches to create less of an overhang. The bumpers have been smoothed, shaved and tucked in for a clean look and a consistent 1/4" gap. Under the hood is Mopar's 6.4L crate engine that is mated to a Tremec 5-speed transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear end. The interior sports Ferrari leather on carbon fiber Cobra seats. A set of Foose-designed wheels were painted to match the car.
Clearly Foose builds amazing cars, but I'm not too crazy about the colors on this car. Maybe it has to be seen in person. Still, I give him credit for doing something different.
