With development engineer Jim Mero behind the wheel, the ZR1 paced the Nürburgring in a time of 7:26.4. The engine rpm and the vehicle speed are the actual data taken during this lap. The elapsed time was measured electronically and confirmed with two hand-held stopwatches. The video is continuous and unedited. Watch and listen as the ZR1 tackles the twists and turns of "the Ring" and sets one of the fastest times ever clocked for a production car. That is F'n awsome! The cool thing is that at 175mph the vett' it turning about 5500 rpm or so. The other thing is you get a feel of how large the 'ring is when you watch the video. I'll bet some folks at Nissan are not happy, as well as a host of other German Car makes ;-) I wonder what Clarkson will have to say about the car from the "Land of the Stomach"...
