Cadillac’s upcoming 550 hp 2009 CTS- V completed a lap of the legendary Nordschleife in 7:59.32. This blistering time appears to be the fastest ever publicly documented for a production sedan. Driven by GM Performance Division executive and race driver John Heinricy.

Likely would have gone faster if they dumped the guy in the back seat holding the camera! I like the cad's, good motor, odd but interesting style. I wonder what other cars in the class do, and you know the German's didn't like that one bit...

I was thinking the same thing. Chevy also tested the ZR1 and hit 205 mph in Germany, but with two guys in the car.

I'm looking forward to this car. Glad to see an American manufacturer stepping up and taking on the European performance sedans. Would like to see Ford step up with an SVT-built sedan.

There are rumors of a new Ford Tarus SHO. Maybe for 2010.
