How much boost can I run before I need an intercooler?
Is there some rule-of-thumb on how much boost I can run on a typical V8 before I either need an intercooler or when an intercooler starts to become beneficial? Let's say I have a small block Ford with around 9.2:1 compression and a Vortech or ProChager supercharger... Can I run this at 10 lbs. of boost without an intercooler? If I use an intercooler, will it really help? Basically, with how much boost pressure does the intake air temp start to heat up too much?
