Can I reuse my engine internals (bearings, pistons rings, etc.) if they engine was built, but never started?
I have a Ford create engine that was built for me with the typical aftermarket gear - forged crank, forged pistons, CL-77 rod and main bearings, etc. The engine uses a standard SBF, 2-bolt block. I'm thinking I now want to run a supercharger and would like to switch to a 4-bolt block. The engine is built and has been in storage for about a year, but never even started, never turned over or installed in a car. Can I take the rotating assembly out and install it in the new engine block and reuse all the parts? Can I reuse piston rings, crank and rod bearings, etc. if the engine was never started?

After you take the 4 bolt block to the machine shop you can find out :) The one thing to watch out for to check tor part number and bearing sizes to make sure they are all the same across both blocks (I think they should be). Some 4 bolt blocks have different Cam bearings as well, and definitly don't reuse them as they normally get hacked when removed. Would I use them? Sure, but I would verify all tollerences in the new block for Main's, the Rod's should be fine as your mating back to the same crank. Keep all thngs together that match, ie. Rods to same bearing, Same for anything that might also fit in a different position. And don't expect your oil pan to fit if it has internal scrapers, and depending on the block if it has splayed caps or/and a 4 bolt rear cap you will have some work to do. Just make sure you check clearences as if you were building a new motor.
