Can an X-Pipe be placed after the mufflers?
What is the best placement for an X-Pipe and/or H-Pipe? Can it be placed after the mufflers? I've only seen this done once. It was a kit for the Mustang Cobra in the 2007 Ford Racing catalog. What are the advantages/disadvantages for doing this?

Might just make it sound a little different, but I would not expect anything else. I think on one of the other questions might have more info on the x-pipe and h-pipe.

Ripper is correct. Placing the X-crossover after the mufflers could be a way of changing the sound, but that's about it. The purpose of an X-Pipe is actually to help scavenging. Placing the X in the hottest part of the exhaust (i.e. close to the collectors) will create scavenging and help bring the exhaust gasses out of the engine. Placing the X after the mufflers won't help scavenging, but might make a unique sound. Any crossover pipe, X or H, will help to balance a dual exhaust system and reduce drone typically found at low RPM (2000-3000) cruising speeds.
