Yes, the Shelby GT500 will continue its production for the 2009 model year. The total number of units to be built has not yet been determined. The car should be unchanged with the exception that Satellite radio now comes as standard equipment. So far, no new colors options have been announced and are not expected.

Ford has also announced that the production of the Shelby GT500KR will continue for the 2009 model year. An additional 746 units will be made, of which 571 will be for U.S. customers. This will bring the total number of GT500KRs to 1,571 in the U.S. for its two-year run. The other 175 units will be for distribution in other countries.

Since Ford is making more GT500s for 2009, I hope the dealer markups are finally gone. If anyone has bought a GT500 for MSRP or under MSRP, please let us know.
