What's better for a 2006 Z06, a cam or ProCharger?
I want more power but i dont want any upgrades that might damage my engine. So, my question is, which one is better for everday driveability, more speed on topend, can take it on a road trip with no worries that the car won't make it, and will last forever cause I don't plan on ever gettin another sportscar.

I've got a customer that owns 8+ Z06 corvettes and many other ultra-performance cars. Some are over 1000wHP all the way down to a mildly modified 650wHP. Admittedly, his most enjoyable vehicle is an STS turbocharged Z06. It's a smoothly done setup that has plenty of power with potential probably beyond your pocketbook. He's sunk tons of money into many of these cars and this one is his all around favorite because of drive ability and speed in one package. I've driven all that we've done work on and it is the one I would pick. His collection includes nasty-nasty, high compression N/A cars that huff N02 all the way to monster twin supercharged mills. My personal fast cars have always been turbocharged, I just love the ability to run around with good milage and calm manners with a low compression car and have the ability to turn up the boost to something retarded when the motor is built right. Your car can handle mild boost without batting an eye. Rear-mounts are just cool as hell to me.

Well, if drivability is your goal, I would probably go with the ProCharger. Vette's with cams and ported heads certainly do sound awesome, but you always run the risk of something not working properly once you dive into the engine. Plus, with cams and engine mods you're probably going to need a custom tune. I spoke with ProCharger and they tell me their Corvette kits are their best selling kits. With so many on the road, and a proven ECU calibration, I would think your best bet (and bang for the buck) would be with the ProCharger. Of course, Vortech Superchargers and STS Turbos are great too. Good luck!

Thanks Motor8rMatt for your reply but i also have a concern about my Z06 that has the LS7 engine that is a high compression engine with 11:1 ratio. My next question is with a ratio that high will it be safe to add a procharger on that engine because the ZR1 is 6.2 liter with a 9.1:1 ratio with a supercharger so it can handle boost better than the Ls7 . So with me knowing that will a procharger be a ticking time bomb on my LS& engine? So 15yrs from now will my engine still be around?
