I'm not too sure who makes parts specifically for this motor, such as superchargers or turbos. It's not a common engine to be modified, but there are a few companies that can probably help boost power with a few conventional bolt-ons. K&N makes a high-flow air filter that might give you a few HP. Next Level Performance makes a module called the Tri-Phase that can add about 12-15hp. Also, Jet Performance Products has their own module that can easily plug in and help boost performance. I'd have to know exactly which car you have, but you might be able to find a performance cat-back exhaust kit as well. If not, you could replace the stock muffler with a higher flowing one, such as one from Magnaflow. In any case, the Chrysler 4.0L makes about 225 hp stock, so adding 5-10hp from an air filter and 12-15hp from a chip/module is like adding 8-10% more power. Hope that helps.

The K&N is already in (no noticeable difference). I have the Signature Series which comes with dual exhaust (I haven't looked under the car yet to check if/how it can be further improved without creating unduly noise). A chip is in the making. While those incremental improvements are desireable, I am looking for a more substantial increase in torque/power that typically can be only achieved with charging (turbo or supercharger) or cams.

Anybody offering a turbo or charge for the 4 liter?

I have not seen a turbo or supercharger for that motor. Of course, one option would be to add nitrous. There are several universal, 4 and 6-cylinder kits you can try. I don't know enough about the engine to know if it can even handle a 40-60hp boost. Same goes with the transmission. Still, if you think it can handle the power, I'm sure there are several fabrication shops that would be interested in creating a custom turbo kit for you. That is probably your best option. Depending on where you live, I'm sure you can find a good shop.

I don't know much either, and there is little or no information out there. That is why I'd rather use someone who HAS figured out what can be done to the engine (rather than a total DIY job through a local shop, with questionable outcome (and no guarantees). Does anybody know if that engine is used in other models, aside from the 2007/08 Pacifica and the current Town and Country? Maybe in one of the Jeeps?

I think the engine might be used in the Dodge Nitro. Honestly, I never heard of anyone wanting to make these kind of mods to a Pacifica. If you really want a turbo, maybe a universal kit from STS would be your best bet. You can call them and see if they would be interested in installing it for you or can recommend a shop they work with. That's about as close to an "over-the-counter" turbo kit as I think you'll get.

I get that response all the time: "How can upgrade a Pacifica (or previously, a Town and Country? That doesn't make sense. I put a hot cam on my truck and put fat tires on it! That makes sense". ==> No, it doesn't. A truck will always drive like a piece of junk. Minivans (and certainly the Pacifica) offer much better handling out of the box; some lowering/ and firming up of the suspension, plus upgrades on the engine actually make them handle quite decent.. Continued...

Particularly the Pacifica, which uses the Mercedes E Class chassis, decent handling, good engine and transmission. I couldn't even get lowering springs (had to order custom wound springs) to get the center of gravity down. In Europe, this class of "Sport Waggons" is well populated (think Mercedes R-Class 500 AMG, Audi S6 Avant (450 HP), Mercedes E500 AMG station wagon, BMW M 545 wagon. The guys get away with a "family car" (look honey, its a practical car), yet get the Porsche performance.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I agree with you. I modify everything I can get my hands on with an engine. Heck, I even created this Web site just for performance car guys. What I meant was, I have not actually heard of anyone else wanting to modify a Pacifica, therefore, there is probably very little reason for manufacturers to make performance parts. But I'm with you on improving performance. I even ported the intake on a buddy's riding lawnmower :)

That's the right attitude! I checked out the rear mounted tubo's. Sure looks intriguing (since the part I hate most about trubos is the plumbing and heat in the engine bay). But there must be a drawback!? Are they spooling up fast enough (mounted so far from the exhaust ports, the gases must have slowed down quite a bit? And pushing (compressing) air in 10 ft of 3 inch pipe leading to the intake can't be good for response either? I have contacted them (STS); lets see what they say.

Awesome, I'm curious to know how it works. If you do decide to put the turbo on, please let me know. I really want to get some photos and videos. In the mean time, check out some of the STS videos and articles we have posted on Motorator (including a video about the Universal kit). Good luck!

I have an 08 Town&Country ltd. 4.0l ..full load ... Fricken $20k per DVD screen LOL and I have been looking for a turbo as well ... I love my "Van"..with the new 6 speed tanny and wider stance it wails for a van.. It came with 17" rims so it is begging to be dropped a bit..
I do know "Hennesy" makes some rear mount turbos for the SRT Cherokee .. I will contact them and see what they have to say :)

Jakethedog, please keep me up to date on the progress you are making with Hennesy or other upgrades to your engine.
My Yokohama Parada Spec-X 265/35-22 on 9.0 inch Ace Executive with +35mm offset are now on their way after extensive "testing" and calculations to get it right.
Lowersprings are ready to order (custom made) but I want to have the tire and wheels installed first to determine the final lowering amount (1.75-2.00 or 40-50mm is what I have in mind).
The rear mounted turbo seems easy
