Ultra Lightweight Carbon Fiber Wheels from Dymag.

Certainly one of the most popular attractions at the 2006 SEMA show was the Performance Tires and Wheels section, home to more than 250 companies in over 2,300 booths. And with more than 1,500 products nominated for the prestigious Best New International Product Award, only one walked away as the winner - the Rennworx / DYMAG Carbon Fiber Wheel.

It was only a matter of time until race bred innovations brought the latest in Carbon Fiber technology to the street. Developed by DYMAG in the UK, these wheels are the lightest, most sophisticated automotive wheels currently available. Each DYMAG wheel is made up of a carbon fiber barrel and forged magnesium center disc. The center disc and barrel are attached by specially coated titanium hardware.

Each carbon fiber rim is fabricated using a solid metal mold to ensure very close tolerance of accuracy and a very high quality, durable finish which is resistant to brake dust, salt, ultra violet and the usual forms of corrosion. Carbon fiber in this form is not only very strong, but is also quite resistant to shock.

The low weight but high stiffness of carbon fiber rims produces a very lightweight rim to the wheel ratio, significantly reducing the moment of inertia and drastically reducing the amount of power required to turn the wheel. Consider that a standard Porsche 18" wheel weighs about 30.86lbs, the DYMAG Carbon Fiber / Magnesium equivalent wheel weighs around 13.23lbs for a total weight savings of approximately 70.55lbs per set of four.

Yes, very nice. And the rims are nice. Think of how much weight you can save off the end of your suspension. 13lbs is significant, not to mention the total weight out of the car. I can't wait until more become available so the price will drop and will see more adoption. The Ripper enjoys good use of technology and this is one that is just that. For one that's not see clear racing rims LOL

Sir/Madam-
Do you have a 17X9.00 or 9.5 wheel with a 5-114 bolt pattern available. I am racing a '93 RX7 and the light weight of your rims would be a competitive advantage.
