Chip's Little Foose Coupe.

Foose_Coupe_1.jpg

Legendary automotive designer, Chip Foose, has made his dream car a reality - the Foose Coupe. Originally an idea of Chip's while attending the Art Center College of Design more than 16 years ago, the Foose Coupe is now offered as a limited production vehicle. The open wheeled hot rod is a piece of rolling art that is as powerful as it is distinctive. The car blends elements of a '33 Ford coupe and a '70 'Cuda, as well as other classic cars into a design that is pure Foose.

The Foose Coupe features an elite carbon fiber monocoque cabin that is mated to a modular steel space frame and planted to the pavement with a suspension by Hotchkis, Koni coil-over shock absorbers and a 6-piston Baer Brake system. The extensive use of carbon fiber keeps the weight down to a scant 2,300 lbs. Your choice of a supercharged 5.4L Ford or a 6.4L Mopar Hemi engine capable of an estimated 550 horsepower powers the mid-engined coupe. All 50 Foose Coupes will be constructed by Metalcrafters, Inc. and available for purchase through Unique Performance.

Additional standard accessories include air conditioning, power windows, power door locks with remote, illuminated push button start, tilt steering column, billet steering wheel, billet pedals, optional exposed carbon fiber interior trim, leather seats and interior surfaces. The car also features retractable door and rear quarter glass, optional glass roof, hidden exterior door release, LED exterior lighting, pistol grip shifter, side view mirror-mounted turn signals and custom 18-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear) Pirelli tires.

Each vehicle will be signed by Chip Foose, numbered and documented in a forthcoming Foose Registry. Prices start at $298,000.

hmm. to be honest it's awesome and horrid all at the same time. the chassis is interesting. nice lines with a touch of class in the front. great hardware. but the open wheel just bothers me. maybe i just don't like open wheel cars. chip foose has some really nice project cars/trucks. this isn't my favorite but it is certainly interesting. i'll take the 56 pickup please.
