The Monterey classic car weekend is home for two great events, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races.



Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
Once each year, on a Sunday in August, 175 of the most prized collector cars in the world roll onto what is often called the best finishing hole in golf — the famed eighteenth fairway at Pebble Beach. Tire meets turf and transformation occurs: the stage is set for one of the most competitive events in the automotive world. The occasion is the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Concours is not a contest of speed, but of excellence. Automobiles are judged for their historical accuracy, their technical merit and their style. And the best garner reward and recognition. Thousands of enthusiasts are on hand to celebrate these cars and enjoy the company of others who share their passion.



The 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance will feature Lancia and Lamborghini and celebrate the centennial of General Motors, and there will be several other special classes, including a class of early London to Brighton Veteran Car Run participants.

Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races
The Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races are the largest event held during the renowned classic car weekend in Monterey California. More than 40,000 visitors worldwide annually attend the Historic Races. The Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races are a tribute of motor racing history, historic automobiles and the people who made them. Each year, more than 375 of the finest historic race and sports cars are entered in 14 race groups that span nearly every era of motorsports history.



In addition to the races there is an extensive vendor area filled with all kinds of automotive collectables, books, posters, and services. But probably the most interesting thing to do is to explore the open paddock where you can get up close to the cars and talk with the drivers. In the paddock area you will find the Rolex Moments in Time exhibit, which features world-class cars in a museum setting.
